Discuss the Future with us
At CMM the latest technological developments as well as options and approaches for entirely new business models will be discussed. Different topics will be the focus of attention: applications, components, connectivity, unmanned vehicles, connected transport systems and what's next?
Our Experts on the microphone
Welcome to the world of connected mobile Machines!
Sessions of CMM 2020 at a glance
Highly autonomous to autonomously acting cars, drones and/or ships are controlled by sensors. Control and data analysis is done by Artificial Intelligence and Big Data analysis. These systems are increasingly finding their way into normal work processes and are shaping our everyday life. The immense need for research - we want to illuminate this intensively with experts from business and science.
How can autonomous water vehicles become a reality more than before and how can they maximize their potential? How can collisions with other water vehicles and the existing infrastructure be avoided? How can autonomous watercrafts maintain their stability even in strong currents and generally cope with difficult water conditions? All these questions will be addressed in the session and practical examples will be presented.
High-end technologies like AI, Big Data, Virtual and Augmented Reality are used to enable autonomy. Equally important is the sensor technology and the design. Weight and stability play a particularly important role in UAS (drones). The interaction of software and hardware is essential for these processes. We talk to experts and present practical examples.
BOS units are increasingly relying on the use of unmanned systems. Whether it is underwater drones searching for people, observing the scene of an accident from the air or deploying highly automated fire-fighting vehicles on the ground - the deployment scenarios are diverse. We discuss the use of highly automated systems with technical experts, but also the protection against them.
The logistics and intralogistics industry often plays a pioneering role for automated systems. Leading companies in the industry report on the integration of mobile machines, e.g. for the transport and order picking of goods in intralogistics. These are not only exciting for logistics insiders, but also offer participants from other sectors interesting ideas for use in other contexts.
This session shows how sensor technology and artificial intelligence can help to make almost all mobile machines up to vehicles of different types more intelligent or autonomous.
The central topic of this session is the possibilities to achieve exact positioning of automated and semi-automated systems by means of satellite-based navigation. The applications range from Smart Farming, Smart Construction to autonomous driving in urban and rural areas.
Drive technologies for mobile machines and vehicles rarely differ from drives of non-autonomous machines. The control systems take on a new meaning. The session informs about trends, tendencies and new components for mobile machines and vehicles.
Mobile systems have to communicate with each other and also with higher-level infrastructures. Conventional industrial communication solutions only work to a limited extent with mobile machines. The session will use practical examples to show how mobile systems can be equipped, also in the automotive sector.
Unlike stationary systems, mobile systems must be protected against external attacks.
The session will show solutions how mobile systems can be protected against cyber attacks and how security can be guaranteed for stable functioning systems.
High-precision operation on the ground poses different technical challenges for vehicles and machines. In the session, experts will discuss application scenarios in the agricultural and construction industries and present 5G test fields in Germany for the use of unmanned systems. The session will also focus on the combination of alternative drive technology with autonomous operation.
High reliability and low latency while ensuring strict safety requirements are imperative for autonomous mobile machine communications.
What will be the role of 5G in overcoming challenges and ensuring the seamless, safe and energy-efficient operation of autonomous mobile machines?
The VDMA session "5G in mobile applications" provides an understanding of the pivotal role of 5G in unlocking enormous technological breakthrough for autonomous mobile machines by presenting Industry 4.0 use cases and a live 5G Testbed.
The VDMA OEM-Sessions offer the opportunity to meet top technology players driving innovation for interoperable communications between mobile machines and intelligent autonomous mobility solutions for industrial applications.
Join the VDMA OEM-Sessions to learn how your company can boost its portfolio of connected mobile machines and mobility.
In the session "OPC UA for Mobile Machines" you will receive an introduction to the industrial communication standard OPC UA. You will get to know the most important stakeholders in standardisation and receive the latest information on the technology. At the same time you will learn how the standard can be used in mobile machines in the future. Gain insights into leading working groups.
